Eugenia DEMYTRUK

Was born in Kovel, Ukraine, March 16, 1910 and passed away peacefully on February 21, 2002 at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, B.C. Survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Basil Dmytruk; her children, Bohdan (Marcia); Halina de Wit (John); and her wonderful grandchildren Adrienne and Stephen. Eugenia immigrated to Canada with her family in 1948. She lived in many interesting places throughout Quebec, including an authentic Hudson's Bay Trading Post in Portage du Fort on the Ottawa River. In Montreal, she was an active member of Saint Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral where she worshipped and sang in the choir. She was passionate about her garden and enjoyed sharing her flowers and tomatoes with the neighbourhood. her generous, loving nature (and cooking) will be forever missed. A memorial service will be held at Saint Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 6250 12th Ave. Montreal, Quebec following the Holy Liturgy on Sunday, March 3, 2002. The Montreal Gazette, 26-02-2002
