Peacefully after a brief but fierce battle with cancer on April 7, 2002. Born in Germany in 1926, Lilo came to Canada in 1958, and for the nearly 44 years thereafter worked steadfastly and loyally as a bookkeeper for the Soloway Wright law firm and for Mr. Hyman Soloway personally. All who knew her were impressed by her independent spirit and her fortitude in the face of adversity. Despite experiencing difficult times in Germany in her youth and arriving alone in this country in her early thirties she was never known to make excuses or to feel sorry for herself. She will be missed by her colleagues and friends. A brief Memorial Service will be held for Lilo at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, April 10, at 11:45 a.m. All who knew her are invited to attend. Donations to the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre in appreciation for the care and compassion shown to Lilo while in their care. The Ottawa Citizen, 09-04-2002
