Adeline E. EVANS

(Reg Nurse - RCN - WWII Veteran) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adeline Catherine Jane Cross (nee Evans), aged 92 years, formerly of Ottawa, surrounded by family and friends, in her home at the Complex Care Unit of the Winchester & District Memorial Hospital, on Friday, October 25, 2002. Beloved wife of the late Capt. Paul Barbour Cross (RCN) and precious mother of Ruth Anne (the late Jim Hart), William Evans, and Janet Pauline Cross. Cherished grandmother of Zakary Alexander Cross (Jan), James Alexander Cross Hart, and Christina Janet Marie Hart. Proud and adoring great-grandmother, and now guardian angel to her inspiration Kaiya Cross (born September 30, 2002). Survived by her younger sister Wilma Davies of Willowdale, Ontario and several nieces, nephews, and families. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue, at Richmond Road, on Friday, November 1, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Saturday. Service in the Chapel on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the CNIB (towards the fight to conquer macular degeneration) or any cause enhancing the lives of veterans (e.g., Perley & Rideau Veteran's Home, War Amps).
