Mr. Harry Clare Frost September 10, 1923 - May 25, 2005 Funeral arrangements by South Side Memorial Chapel “Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings” On May 25th, 2005, our husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend slipped gracefully out of our lives, but not our hearts, at age 81, following a short illness. Harry was born and raised in Frankford, Ontario, where his family expected him to take over the family farm. But Harry wanted to fly, and so joined the RCAF to train as a pilot where he eventually became a navigator. Shortly after, he succumbed to love at first sight, and married his sweetheart, Emily. He and Emily moved to Edmonton, where they raised their three sons. He joined Interprovincial Pipe Line (Enbridge), where he spent 38 years before retiring, and was an avid supporter of the Alberta Aviation Museum and member of the Wartime Aircrew Association. Harry’s love of flying was surpassed only by his love for Emily and for his family, who could always rely on him for good conversation, good advice, and the occasional argument over politics. His wisdom and kindness will be sorely missed by family and friends, too numerous to mention. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chen, Dr. Callahan, and the many nurses and doctors at the Misericordia Hospital Intensive Care and Cardiac Care units, for the excellent care they provided to Harry and to our family. At Harry’s request, a private memorial will take place. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Caritas Hospitals Foundation, 3C60 11111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton Alberta T5K 0L4.
