ELMHIRST, Mr. Richard "Dick" Russel - At P.R.H.C. on Wednesday May 25, 2005 in his 82nd year. Son of the late Stephen and Laura Elmhirst. Beloved husband of Helen Price and the late Madeline Manley. Dearest father of Catherine (Norman Wood), Marion (Ken Burton) and Sharon (Terry Caird). Cherished grandfather of Gordon, Denise, Luke, Dan, Steven, and Travis. Great-grandpa of Hannah, Madelaine and Sophy. Much loved by sisters Mary Westropp and Blanche Jackson. Member of Keene Lodge #374 A.F. & A.M., Member of Peterborough Old Tyme Fiddlers and Dancers and Otonabee Valley Old Time Fiddlers and Dancers. He leaves many memories of great fiddling with his friends. Dick faced his illness in the same way he lived his life - with patience, humour, kindness, generosity and a sense of gratitude for all things good. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday May 29th at the Kaye Funeral Home "Memorial Chapel" 539 George Street North. Funeral Service from Keene United Church on Monday May 30, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Bain Milroy officiating.
