GILLESPIE, John C. In hospital Smiths Falls on Monday, July 4, 2005, John C. Gillespie, in his 93rd year. Husband of the late Hilda Hughes and by first marriage the late Evelyn Laushway. Loved and respected father of Sharon Hurst of Ottawa, Marcia (Ken) Maxwell of Oakville, Sue Anne (Daniel) Davis of Calgary. Cherished grandfather of John Ross Hurst, Jill Hurst, Scott Maxwell, Kimberly Maxwell, Robert Davis and Kelly Davis. Great-grandfather of Emily and Benjamin Hurst. Brother of Jeannette (Donald) Goodfellow of Kingston and George Russell "Bud" Gillespie of Smiths Falls. Predeceased by sister Versa Timmins, brothers Carmen, Thomas and Heber Gillespie. Brother-in-law of Patricia Gillespie and Ann Gillespie. Friends may pay respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, July 8 at 11 a.m. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery.
