Jukka Kalevi UIMONEN

Jukka Kalevi Uimonen June 02, 1956 - May 31, 2005 Jukka quietly and peacefully passed away at Vancouver General Hospital on May 31, 2005 from a brief battle with liver cancer, just two days before his 49th birthday. His wife and loved ones by his side. Jukka is survived by his wife, Vivian (Douglas/ Chapman), His step children; Heath & Jennifer, Jarrod & Glenda, Shari joy & Doug, Jeff & Am, and His 3 i grandchildren. His Mother Tyyne, His brothers and sisters; Eric, John & Maarit, Mark & Anglica, Merja, Bobby, His Nieces and Nephews; Danny, Vanessa, Michael, Lucas, Dominic and Elisa His Father Aulis and his brother Kari predeceased him. Jukka’s family moved from Finland to Montreal, Quebec when he was a young boy, where he lived until the age of 24. He moved to Kitimat, British Columbia, and started working for Alcan Aluminum Smelters where he’s been employed for the past 25 years. Jukka was a quiet, loving man, a wonderful Husband and Son, a good step Father and Brother, a patient Grandpa and Uncle, and to those who had the pleasure, an exceptional friend. He was a man who’d do anything for anyone and ask for nothing in return. He will be greatly missed by many!!! But you did not go alone. For parts of us went with you, the day God called you home; You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide; And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side; Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same; But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. You’ll always be in our thoughts. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society to help with research to rid this world of this horrible disease. A Memorial Service will be held for Jukka on June 14th 2005, at 1:30pm in the Catholic Church, followed by a short get-together at the Legion Hall.
