Demetrios "Jim" Zagas October 01, 1938 - May 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Demetrios "Jim" Zagas, passed away with his family by his side. He will be deeply missed by the love of his life Magda; his children Soti, Jim, Cheryl (daughter in-law), and his granddaughter Alex who he deeply adored. He is also remembered by his siblings: Chrissa, Eli, George and Peter, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews and all of their families. Jim was born in Athens, Greece. Jim joined the Greek Merchant Navy at a young age where he traveled the world. After marrying his beloved Magda, he and his wife moved to Calgary in 1968 where they began and raised their loving family. He was the proud proprietor of Brentwood Pizza for 25 years. Jim and Magda recently retired and looked forward to spending more time with family, friends and his “little Alex� who will sorely miss him. His history, character, integrity and commitment to his family enriched the lives of all whom knew him. His smile and demeanor would brighten your day. The care and support given by family, friends and staff at the Foothills Hospital has been greatly appreciated by all. Prayers will be held at LEYDEN’S FUNERAL HOME (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 7.00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Tamarac Crescent S.W. (corner of Poplar Road and Tamarac Crescent S.W.) on Wednesday May 18, 2005 at 1.00 p.m.
