J. George CUSHING

CUSHING, J. George, Peacefully, at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in his 89th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Jean (Ester) Cushing. Son of the late Joseph and Mary Cushing. Brother of the late Mary Wills and th e late Robert Cushing. Loving father of Richard (Deb Jesshope) Cushing of Oakville, Barbara (Jim) Pallister of Innerkip and Russell Cushing (Debby Trask-Cushing) of Nova Scotia. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Cpl. Dana Cushing (USMC), Dann Cushing of Toronto and Angela and Jillian Pallister of Innerkip. George was born and educated in Boston, Mass. During WW II, he served as a First Mate in the US Merchant Marine and as a Navigator (1st Lieut.) with the Air Transport Command (US A rmy). An avid sailor, George was a member of the RCYC and the NOTL Sailing Club for many years. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, (Byron Street) Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2:00 o'clock.
