BRYERS, Eleanor. She was trapped by Alzheimer's disease and wanted to die as she did peacefully at the young age of eighty-eight at Upper Canada Lodge, Niagara on the Lake, on December 8, 2005. She had two roles in her life: one of her mother, who was no "June Cleaver" but never aspired aspired to same and that of "Miss Eleanor: Artistic Directress, of the Mount Royal Ballet Academy, she founded in 1950. Her absolute strength will overcome adversity, passion and guidance will never be forgotten by her children, sister, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and the thousands of her ballet students she instructed over her fifty year career. As per her request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She will be cremated and laid to rest at her beloved Lake MacDonald, Quebec. She truly loved and adored everyone who was a part of her life. Twinkle, drew and Peter want to express our sincere gratitude for the part you played. In honour of Ellie and "Miss Eleanor", donations to Alzheimer's Society of Niagara Region, 403 Ontario St. Unit 1, St. Catharines, Ontario L2N 1L5, would be so much appreciated. Thank you for being a part of her extraordinary life. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 12/13/2005
