Rev. John Robert Alexander Smearer ST. STEPHEN, NB - The death of Rev. John Smearer occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on January 8, 2003. Born in Black Point, NB, he was the son of the late Irvine Archibald and Pearl Smearer. Survived by four sisters, Cora (Charles) Mealey of Black Point, NB, Katherine (Kay) (Donald) Clowater of Oak Bay, NB, Sheila Smearer of Black Point, NB, Nancy Steeves of Edmonton, AB; three brothers, Martin (Vetta) Smearer of Black Point, NB, Wayne Smearer of Black Point, NB, Danny (Rose Marie) Smearer, Archibald Settlement, NB; several nieces and nephews; adopted parents Carman and Edith Goodwin of Moncton, NB; Joe and Meta Daigle of Ottawa, ON; and many dear friends and colleagues across the country. Predeceased by one sister Brenda Smearer. Resting at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Ltd. 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton, NB, with visiting on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held 2 pm on Sunday from Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church in Moncton, NB, with his friend and colleague Rev. Trevor Hoskins officiating. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
