KEITH, ELEANOR KAY - Passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. A resident of Carleton-Kirk Lodge and formerly of 75 Bayview Drive, she was born October 20, 1912 in St. George, NB to the late Frank and Annie (Magowen) Chaffey. A graduate of St. Stephen Business College, Eleanor served in Washington, DC as a Sergeant with the C.W.A.C's for four years during WWII and then later worked as a secretary in Saint John for many years. While employed by Keith Brokerage Ltd., she met her future husband, the late Ronald Keith. They were married from 1952 until Ronald's death in 1968. Eleanor was an avid bridge player and rarely missed an adventure with the girls from her bridge club. She was a member of the "Quinton Heights Circle" for many years and loved to keep busy with things like her knitting or making lovely desserts. She always had a story to share with her family and her two dogs were wonderful companions. Eleanor is survived by her two sons Gerald and his wife Susan Walsh and Frank both Saint John, NB, one sister, Alberta "Bert" Alexander of Fredericton, NB, grandson Benjamin Keith of Saint John, NB, two step-granddaughters Tanya Walsh and husband Sean Fergus of Pickering, ON., Terri Vaughan and husband Tom and two step-great grandsons Zach and Ty Vaughan all of Saint John, NB. Besides her parents and husband, Eleanor was predeceased by her brothers Tom and Bill and her sisters Marion Harris and Louise Prebble. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, N.B., (634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and memorial service Wednesday, October 8, 2003 from "Fallsview" Chapel at 1 pm with Rev. John Fraser officiating. Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Osteoporosis Society of NB, the Carleton-Kirk Lodge or the charity of donor's choice.
