BASANDA, Anna (nee Germek). Peacefully into the hands of her Lord at Manoir Pierrefonds on Friday, February 20, 2004 in her ninety-seventh year. Wife of the late John Basanda. Loving and much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Mary (Maurice McLean) and John (Christine Sovenko). Baba loved and was loved and admired by many in her Slovak community and especially by her grand-children Lynn (Robert Cairns), Glenn (Lorraine Huza), Allan (Jane Steinbrenner), Karen, Brian (Sarah Summerlin) and Gary. She will be missed by her very special great-grandchildren Malcolm and Meredith Cairns; Melissa, Eric and Thomas Mihalovic; Sean and Dylan Graham; Brett and Zachary Basanda. Baba loved us all unconditionally. She leaves us with great memories. Never forgotten. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24 at 11 a.m. in Ascension of Our Lord Slovak Catholic Church, 45 Legendre Street West. The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Moshonas and Ouimet, 693 Jean Talon Street West.
