Peacefully at home Saturday February 8, 2003 at 5:15 p.m. Doreen Lydia Tyler age 80, was born at Waverly Brook Farm, Haliburton, Ontario. Daughter of the late Randolph Tyler and Olive Swann. Beloved wife of Lawrence George Smith. Cherished mother of Marguerite (Bing Hum), Kathleen (Harry Diaczyk), Graham (Helen), Melanie (Paul Saunders), Kevin and Louise (Ark Yee). Loving grandmother of Shana (Pastor James Perkins), Jeffrey Saunders (Terri), Carrie Saunders, Jennifer (Christopher Messer); Stephen and Laura Hum; Gregory (Jennifer), Katrina, Natasha and Tanya Diaczyk; Kyle, James (Leah), Jonathan and Mark Smith, Pastor Philip Smith (Melanie); Stephen and Adam Smith; Christopher and Cassie Yee. Proud great-grandmother of Jessica, Justin, Jenna, Jacob, Nathan, Adelaide, Joshua, Caleb, Isaac and Andrew. Dear sister of Charles (Beulah), late Ron (Jean), Shirley (Murray Woodcock), Marguerite (Hugh Lane and the late Larry Salkeld) and Keith Tyler. Doreen's journey ended when she went home to be with her loving Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. With an expressed desire that He would either bring physical healing to her cancer wrecked body or take her home, she lapsed into her eternal rest. Larry and family will receive visitors at home Monday and Tuesday from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Service in Memory of Doreen will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at New Wine Covenant Church, 2586 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans at 3 p.m. donations to World Vision appreciated.
