Francis Joseph MICKERS

Rev. Francis, Joseph Of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart At peace and eager to experience the Promise of Eternal Life, Francis passed away on Friday February 28, 2003, the fifty-fifth anniversary of his ordination to the ministerial priesthood, at the Perley-Rideau Health Centre at the age of 81. Dear brother of Theo-dorus (Jeannette), pre-deceased by Lambertus (Johanna Mickers-van Lankveld). Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews, all in the Netherlands. In his daily community living, in his secondary school teaching, in his parish ministry and as an archivist/librarian with the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, Francis was much appreciated for his dedication and the depth and consistency of his spiritual life, for his fidelity in community living and for his legendary and caring attention to detail. His attentiveness and sense of humour delighted us all. Confreres and friends may call at Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset St. W. (centretown) on Monday March 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Laurier and Cumberland, Tuesday March 4, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. with additional visiting from 10 a.m. in the Church. Interment in the Congregation's burial plot at Osgoode in the Spring. donations to the Mission Fund of the Priests of the Sacred Heart will be appreciated.
