The death of Michael Joseph Holohan of The Veteran's Wing of the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home and formerly of Chaplin Island Road, NB occurred at the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the of 86. Born at Chaplin Island Road, NB, Michael was the son of the late William James and Mary Katherine (Bayle) Holohan. Michael attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, retired from the Newcastle Post Office and was a Veteran of WW11 serving overseas with the NB Rangers Support Company 16th Division CITB. Michael is survived by three sisters Noreen Holohan and Rosemary Holohan of Chaplin Island Road, NB and Patricia Gorman of Ottawa, ON one niece Bayle Gorman and two nephews Bernie and John Gorman. Predeceased by four sisters: Katherine, Mary, Beatrice and Joan and two brothers: Thomas and George. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 9 to 10 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial that was celebrated from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 11 AM with Father Jacques Landry officiating. Organist: Mary Butler was accompanied by the church choir. Active pallbearers were: Freddie Butler, Michael Butler, Joseph Savoie, Eddie Taylor, Ernie Mills and Christopher Somers. Honorary pallbearers were: Vince Diotte, Jack and Susan Butler, Elizabeth Butler, Rachel Butler, Karen Savoie,Brenda Somers, Harry and Carmel Jagoe. Burial took place in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Michael's memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home or to St. Mary's Capital Campaign.
