Catherine Mary BROWNRIGG

60, Ottawa, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away October 31, 2003, in Ottawa Civic Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Cathy was predeceased by her parents Mary (McNeil) and Robert Brownrigg. She is survived and sadly missed by her husband, Donald Collier; brothers, Robert (Noreen), Douglas (Helen), both of Dartmouth; James (Shirley), Edmonton; sisters, Judy (Wayne) Gay, Musquodoboit; Irene (Edward) Merlin, Dartmouth; Marg (Rick) Lee, Eastern Passage; several nieces and nephews. After her recent retirement, Cathy was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals. Raised and educated in Dartmouth and Halifax, Cathy joined External Affairs (Foreign Affairs) in Ottawa. She lived and worked in many countries around the world, including England, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Israel, India, Pakistan, Guatemala, Trinidad, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh. Cremation has taken place in Ottawa. A Memorial service will be held in Halifax, Saturday, November 8, at 11 a.m. in Bethany United Church, 7171 Clinton Ave, Halifax, Rev. Jane M. Hallett officiating, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held in Ottawa at a later date. Cremation has taken place in Ottawa. A Memorial Service was held in Halifax, Saturday, November 8, 2003.
