Mary Jeannette PAUPIN

MEUNIER, Mary Jeannette-94, West Arichat/Poirierville, passed away January 25, 2003, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in West Arichat, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Gerrard) Paupin. Prior to her marriage and becoming a full-time homemaker she worked in the hospitality industry in St. Stephen, N.B. Memé, as she was affectionately known by all, was a very generous and caring person, she loved having her family around, especially if a card game followed a delicious meal she had so enjoyed preparing. Christmas was also very special for her as she bought and wrapped gifts for all her extended family. A devoted member of the Catholic faith, she worked very hard raising her daughters and looking after the family home while her husband was away working at sea. She is survived by daughters, Evangeline (John) Babin, Helen (Jim) McLaren, both of Antigonish; Violet (Charlie Deveaux) LeBlanc, Poirierville; Linda (Paul) Martell, Petit de Grat; sisters, Lena McAulay, Guysborough, Lorraine Doiron, Lower Sackville; brother, Leo Paupin, West Arichat; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; three step great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Leo; sisters, Evangeline, Lavina and Ida May. Visitation was Sunday, funeral service 11 a.m. today in Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat, Rev. Bruno Ruel officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Isle Madame Volunteer Fire Department, Palliative Care, Strait Richmond Hospital or a charity of your choice.
