O'FARRELL, Esther. Passed away in her eighty-second year on Friday, March 28 at Laval Hospital in Quebec City. The proud daughter of the late James T.A. O'Farrell and Susan Cassidy, Esther is destined to be reunited with her three late brothers who she cherished her entire life; the late Francis (Berthe Renaud), the late Norman (Sarah Paulmert) and the late James J. (the late Madeleine Selway). She is survived by her younger brother William (Ruth O'Rourke), whose support she praised till her last day. Esther also leaves to mourn her nieces and nephews, Kevin (Linda Ward), Glenn (Terry Kirk), James (Marie-Josee Houde), Susie, Catherine (Hank Van Leeuwen), Norma (Andrew Walsh), Ann (Tony Fitzpatrick), Caroline, Kenneth (Catherine Hefford), Sharon (Marcel Asselin), Brenda (Peter Wheeland), the late Phillip, Andrew (Martine Lefebvre) and Ian. Each in their own way appreciated her enormous generosity, admired her unique style, battled her willful spirit and counted on her to keep everyone together, if not in their place, and connected to the family's roots in St. Malachy. Visitation will take place at Roy et Rouleau Funeral Home, 1108 rue Principale, St. Malachie, Que., on Friday, April 4 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 10 p.m. On Saturday, April 5, the day of the funeral, the funeral home will be opened at 9 a.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at St. Malachie Parish Church.
