McILREATH, George Earl A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 1:00 p.m. at James Reid Cataraqui Chapel (Counter Street & Highway #2) with interment at Cataraqui Cemetery for George Earl McIlreath who recently passed away in Thousand Pal ms, California. Earl, as he was known to most people, was born March 15, 1918 at Toyes' Hill, Ontario to Alexander McIlreath and Ethel Johnson. In 1942 he married Norma M. Brown of Kingston, Ontario; deceased in 1977. In 1978 he married Elona (Kelly) Z. Kalynchuk of Banff, Alberta, who survives. Also surviving, a son Dr. Ian A. McIlreath of Calgary, Alberta and his wife Susan, a granddaughter, Melissa A. Wilcox and husband Terry of Calgary; a grandson Sean A. McIlreath M.D. of Belleville, Ontari o and his partner Janet Keating; a sister, Mabel Geggie, Brockville, Ontario; a step-son, Philip Kamenka, Vancouver, British Columbia; a step-daughter Lynn Lee, Osoyoes, British Columbia; a step-granddaughter, Jessica Lee, Regina, Saskatchewan; broth er-in-law Earle Brown and Francis, Kingston, Ontario, sister-in-law, Vera Brown, Kingston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Ontario and the United States of America. Earl McIlreath worked 35 years at Alcan's Kingston Works and 7 years at Al can-Prices' Extrusion Plant in Calgary. An avid golfer, crystal collector and vegetable gardener, he enjoyed spending his winter retirement months in Hawaii and California. His dry humour, modesty, determination and love will be sorely missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, with appreciation from the McIlreath family.
