McIVOR, Gladys Loretta Gladys Loretta McIvor, age 89 years, of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 16, 2005. She was born September 20, 1915 in Transcona, Manitoba and she was a daughter of Torger and Mabel Nesby. Gladys is survived by her sister Lois (Los Angeles); sons Jim and wife Helen (Thompson), Richard (Winnipeg), Brent and wife Marilyn (Whistler); grandsons Keith, Lee and Cameron; granddaughters Ashleigh and Lindsay; and six great grandchildren who all held a special place in her heart. She will be missed by many including very special family friends Mary and Bob Kerr. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar of 66 years on December 4, 2004. Gladys was a devoted mother whose number one priority was family and home. She supported Ed in his mining career first moving to Sudbury in 1936 when Ed started with INCO. The moved to Levack mine in 1945 and were one of the first families to move to the new mine complex in Thompson in 1959. The family gratefully acknowledges Health Sciences Centre - Dialysis Unit and the Golden Door staff for their dedicated and very compassionate care. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005.
