WHITFIELD, GEORGE THOMAS - Of 1710 Hickey Rd. Saint John NB. passed away at his residence on Tuesday June 20th, 2006. George was born in Englishtown Cape Breton N.S. on August 23rd, 1928 to the late George Frederick and Annabelle (MacLean) Whitfield. George is survived by his loving wife Donna (Walton), three sons, Victor (Julia) of New York, Stephen of Toronto Ont., Jay (Orlee) of Yukon and a stepson Troy (Gena) Walton of Manitoba, two daughters, Jocelyn (Drew) Olsen of Sask., Joanne (Eric) Carlburg of Yellowknife, four step-daughters, Abigail Lorenzo of Toronto Ont., Antoinette Lorenzo, Rosanna Gabalones also of Toronto Ont., and Dianne (Dave) Dersoriser of Gagetown NB. a brother James (Ted) Whitfield of Niagra on the Lake, Ont. several grandchildren and a great grandchild. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sisters Christina Carruthers and Jane Raymond and a brother Roddy Whitfield. George loved bowling, baking, prospecting and traveling. Arrangements are under the professional care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB. (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran will be held on Thursday evening at 7pm from the funeral home. The funeral service will be held for George on Friday June 23rd, 2006 at 10:00am from the Fundy Funeral Home "Chapel". The interment will be held on Monday June 26th, 2006 at 10am in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
