BROWN, Constance Lenore B.A. M.A. (nee Stothers) January 14, 1905- July 22, 2006 Peacefully in hospital at Mississauga, Ontario on Saturday, July 22, 2006 in her 102nd year. Formerly of Ottawa and a summer resident of Lake Park, Beckwith Township. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Howard Morton Brown and survived by her three daughters Daphne Julia Trefry (Dick) of Peachland B.C., Carol Nicholson (John) of Oakville and Margot Janzen (Jim) of Brampton, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Constance was born in London, Ontario and obtained her BA degree in 1926 and MA in 1928 in Biology from the University of Western Ontario. In 1928 she moved to Ottawa to work in research for the Federal Government and in 1934 married Howard Brown. Married women were not allowed to work for the government in those years thus ended her research career. Following the death of Howard she moved to Mississauga to be closer to her children. Throughout her life Constance maintained an active interest in the merits of world travel and education which she passed on to her family. Private family arrangements entrusted to the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place. A private family graveside service will be held at United Cemeteries, Carleton Place on Tuesday, July 25.
