Shirley SCHMIDT

PETROVICH (Schmidt) Shirley - Peacefully, with Norm and Shay holding her hands, on April 22, 2004, we lost a beautiful lady. Shirley was predeceased by her longtime spouse, Voja (Peter) Petrovich, by her parents George and Mary Schmidt, and her dear brother Lawrence (Larry) Schmidt. She is survived by her sister Betty (Don) McCarthy, her brothers Robert (Helen) Schmidt, Jack (Maxine) Schmidt, James (Diane) Schmidt, her sister-in-law June Schmidt and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her beloved pet, Jazzy. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her as a friend, but especially by her surrogate daughter and best friend, Shay Damato, her husband Norman and their son, Justin. Shirley will be long remembered as a role model for the children she assisted as a long time crossing guard, lunchroom monitor and volunteer for Orchard Park School. In lieu of flowers, a donation to G.N.G.H. Palliative Care would be appreciated. Shirley will rest peacefully after interment in the lovely Scattering Gardens at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls, which will be held on Wednesday, April 28th, at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel.
