Katherine HLUCHOWECKA

LENKO, Katherine (Hluchowecka). Passed away peacefully at Sacre Coeur Hospital on June 20, 2004. She was born in Dobriany, Ukraine, July 20, 1913, to Sophia and Wasyl Hluchowecki. Beloved wife of the late Franz Lenko. Loving mother of Sonia (Peter) Kushnir of Sterling Heights Michigan, George (Jo-Anne) Lenko of Brockville Ontario. Grandmother to Christopher, Gregory and Stefanie Lenko. She in mourned by her extended family in Ukraine and her friends and associates at home, especially her recent caregiver, Mary Osmak, a good friend and Neighbour. All her life she was an avctive member of St. Micheal's Ukrainian Catholic parish and also attended St.John the Baptist Church in Park Extension. Many in Ukraine and Brazil will also remember her for her interest in their plight and her generous contributions to their causes. She was a deeply religious woman who never wavered in her faith and at the end gave herself over to God's will. Visitation Thursday, June 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Panachyda Service 8 p.m. Alfred Dallaire Funeral Chapel, 2254 Bellechase. Funeral service on Friday, June 25 at 9:30 a.m. St.Micheal's Catholic Church. 2388 rue D'Iberville.
