FALKENHAM, GERALD HARRY Gerald H. "Gerry" Falkenham, loving husband of Iona (Crouse) Merrithew, passed away Saturday, November 18th, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. He was born July 16th, 1926 in Lunenburg, NS, the son of the late Harry and Dora (Lohnes) Falkenham and educated at the Lunenburg Academy, Halifax Business College and later made the highest in Canada on his RIA, receiving the gold metal for Canada. Gerry was the Office Manager for Swift Canada (Halifax), McCain Foods, Florenceville and retiring as Administrator of the Fredericton Medical Clinic. He was a member of the Fredericton Golf Club, Capital Winter Club (Curling), St. Paul's Church (active Elder), Masonic Lodge and Thomist Dance Club. He loved hunting and fishing with buddies and son Doug, playing cards, telling jokes, serving on many committees as Treasurer and having fun. He especially enjoyed golfing, dancing and traveling with Iona. He had held many offices such as President of Fredericton Figure Skating Club, he represented NB on the Canadian Figure Skating Counsel (going to Winter Games in Saskatoon), President of the Medical Institute of Canada, President of Bethany United Church (Halifax), Couples Club, worked on special projects with the Alzheimer's Association of NB, Paymaster of the Reserve Halifax Rifles and cook at Fredericton Hospital 24 Hour Relay. Gerry is survived by his son, Doug (Gale) Falkenham of Truro, NS; and daughters, Nancy (Larry) McDonald of Denver, CO, Judy (Larry) Llewellyn of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Jennifer Falkenham and Rebecca and Elizabeth Llewellyn; Iona's children, Jill at home, Joy (Bruce) Barrington of Sydney, NS, Gail (Duane) Waugh of Lower Coverdale, NB, Anne Merrithew of Saint John, NB; as well as seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene E. (Conrad) Falkenham and by his brother Robert Falkenham. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 21st, 2006 from 6 to 9 pm. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006 at 3:00 pm from St. Paul's United Church. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment will take place on Saturday, November 25th, 2006 at 2:00 pm from Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg, NS.
