BROWN, Ronald Oscar Korean War Veteran Passed away surrounded by his children on Friday, January 5th, 2007 at the age of 73 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Healthcare Centre. Loving husband of the late Alma (nee Labrosse). Son of the late Samuel Thomas Brown and Gracia Robitaille. He will be missed by his children Linda Brown (Ronald Arbuthnot-Renfrew), Alan Brown (Johanne Chatelain-Renfrew) and Patricia Brown (Paul Griffin-Wendover). He dearly loved his grandaughter Priscillia Brown who predeceased him last year. His grandsons Corey and Liam will miss him very much and will remember him with great fondness. He is survived by his sisters Norma Brown (Hull) and Murielle (Marquis-Hull). He was predeceased by his sister Fleurette McMullen and his brother Elmo Brown. Born in Hull, Quebec in 1933 Ron served as a paratrooper in the Korean War. His career was mainly in the concrete industry which lead him to invent and patent the Alslur Slurry mixer which is presently being used in several concrete batch plants in the US and Canada. He will be remembered by many as a man of conviction and honesty. He treated those near to him with respect, tolerance and compassion for their life choices. His final weeks were lived at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre where he continually stated how wonderful the nursing staff, doctors and facility were. We would like to express our most sincere thanks to all those who filled his final days with dignity and kindness. The care he received was beyond anything we could have wished for. The experience enriched all our lives and allowed us the privilege to be with our father every step of the way. Our sincere appreciation and thanks go out to the following individuals at the SCO Health Service Palliative Care: Dr. Tucker, Dr. Hall, Dr. Chow, Debbie Gravelle, Sandra, Jackie, Jacquie, Bride, Francoise, Julia, Jessica, Colleen and Amanda . special thanks to Dr. Seely of the Ottawa Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
