Betty DILTS

HENDRY, Betty (nee Dilts). 1917-2007. Peacefully at home on January 22, 2007 after a long and courageous struggle. Beloved wife for sixty-seven years of Donald J. Hendry (Bud). Loving and devoted mother to Wendy (Barry MacDonald), Penny Sue (Ross Purcell) and Judy (the late James Crocker). She also leaves to mourn seven grandchildren; Shannon, Jennifer, Jessica, John, Julie, Stephanie and Jill; and five great-grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Madison, MacKenzie and Amelia. Long-time friend of Peggy Steele. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers who provided love and support for these last few difficult years; Brenda, Cecelia, Carmen, Mabel and especially Pat. She also received tremendous care from CLSC Lac-St-Louis, especially Anna. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Betty received her B.A. from the University of Manitoba and her B.Ed. from McGill University. She taught school for many years in Montreal and was a Principal with the Protestant Schoolboard of Greater Montreal. In their retirement years, she and Bud spent much of their time in Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain, usually surrounded by their beloved grandchildren. She had a wonderful life and will be sadly missed by many. There will be a private family funeral service.
