Jacob Traverse July 04, 1936 - January 21, 2007 Suddenly on January 21, 2007, our Dad, Jacob Traverse of Lake St. Martin First Nation passed away at the age of 70 years. Dad leaves to mourn his wife, Christine (nee: Gabriel); his daughter, Melanie; his son’s, Carl (Luana), Syles (Rhonda), Jason (Arlene) and Dwayne; his grandchildren, Marshall, Adam, Travis, Tristan, Reanna, Jaylon, Shania, Sarah, Merdina, Carl, Natalie, Carter, Chancellor and Nevis; his great-grandsons, Timothy, Garrett, Zachary and Adam; his brother, Mark Traverse; his sisters, Bertha Sumner, Evangeline Traverse and Edith Gagen. Dad was predeceased by his daughters, Marilyn Maud and Melvina Mae Traverse; his grand-daughter, Leanna; his brothers, David, Alex and Harry; his sister, Elizabeth and by his parents, Victor and Emma Traverse. Dad was a fisherman for so many years and taught his son’s how to fish at a young age. He built his own house and enjoyed taking care of his yard and driving his riding lawn mower around. Dad loved going to church, and really loved it when his grandchildren would come and visit him. He had a nickname for every one of them. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25th, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Lake St. Martin Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert McLean officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake St. Martin Cemetery.
