Dorothy Bernice FIELDHOUSE

JENKINS, Dorothy Bernice (nee Fieldhouse) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario. Dorothy, born in Toronto July 13, 1924, was the only child of John and Florence Fieldhouse. Her physical absence is deeply felt by Robert Jenkins, her much loved and devoted husband. Dorothy met and subsequently married Bob at St. Clements Anglican Church in Toronto. During their more than 60 years together, Bob and Dot: started the first Boy Scout pack in Scarborough in the late 1940's at St. Jude's Anglican Church; enjoyed many summers in the cottage they built on Salmon Lake; spent almost three decades actively involved in Square and Round Dancing; and, belonged to and relished the Barber Shop Community at Harmony Ranch in Baldwin, Ontario. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Roberta and Leslie who, along with their husbands (Jessie Roberson and Alan Davis), mourn the loss of their warm and loving mother (in- law). Nana is truly missed by Vanessa Vandermark-Fernow (Matthew), Dorothy's only grandchild. Auntie Dot will be missed by her many nieces and nephews as well. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate nurses at RVH, with a special thank you to Nancy and Chris-who were a blessing to the whole family. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME 201 Minet's Point Road at Yonge Street, Barrie on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday December 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the “I Believe Campaign“ at the Royal Victoria Hospital or to the SPCA in Barrie, Ontario.
