WOOD, Philip James 1948 - 2006 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, brother and uncle, following a courageous battle with cancer on November 20, 2006 at High River, at the age of 58 years. Left to mourn are his two sons, Shaun and Travis of Airdrie; granddaughters, Devon and Kylie; sisters, Sharon (Harry) Boyko, Edmonton, Heather Wimmenhove, Calgary and Donna Wood, High River; along with his niece Lisa Wood, Edmonton and nephews, Jamie and Christopher Switzer, High River and Jeff Winnemhove, Calgary. Phil is also survived by his aunt Elaine Bird, Okotoks; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Ruby Wood in 1995; his father James Wood Jr.; and his grandfather James Wood Sr. in 1971. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humour will be missed by all who loved him but especially his closet and dearest friends, Bob and Sue Willoughby, Jimmy and Janet Snider, Wes Willoughby and Lorette Keller and Clair Bishop all of High River. At his request there will be no Funeral Service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, High River on Wednesday, November 22 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorial tributes may be made to S.T.A.R.S., 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Box 570, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7.
