Francis A. MITCHELL

BARTKO, Francis A. (nee Mitchell) 1939 - 2006 After a long courageous battle with cancer our beloved wife, mother and friend passed away on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the age of 67 years. Fran was predeceased by her parents, Vern and Winifred Mitchell of Swan River, Manitoba. She is survived by her husband Raymond Bartko of Skookumchuck, British Columbia; son Mark Bartko (Roxanne McCaig) and their four children - Kandace, Braydon, Roger and Ann-Frances of Calgary; son Shane Bartko (Paula Paulgaard) and his daughter Lacey of Calgary and son Kris Bartko (Lisa) and their two children, Carter and Vanessa of Calgary. Fran is also survived by brothers, Wayne and Edith Mitchell and family and Claire and Gerry Mitchell and family of Swan River, Manitoba as well as many relatives and friends across Canada and the United States. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, the Oncology staff at the Kelowna Hospital as well as the volunteers and staff of the Rotary Lodge in Kelowna, staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, British Columbia and the members of the Wasa Lions Club and Ladies Auxiliary. A special thank you to all of the friends and family who gathered in her time of need. A celebration of life will be held at the Wasa Community Centre in Wasa, BC at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2006. Fran, your laugh and humour will be missed.
