Dorothy Viola Cool (Sutherland) died July 13, 2006 in Englehart. She had been ill for two-and-a-half years. She was born in Callander, Ontario on December 2, 1918 to Henry George Hamilton and Julia May Duffy. Educated in Callander, she married Douglas Sutherland in Haileybury on June 25, 1939. She worked as a bookkeeper at Simpsons, Dominion and Woollings over the years, moving to Englehart from Schumacher in 1950. She is survived by her daughters Bettyanne Thib-Jelly and Sandra Penziwol; granddaughters MaryLynn Kirkey, Peri Carleton, Heather Jakobsen and Kara Sproule; and great-grandchildren Ryen Carleton, Ashlee Carleton, Megan Kirkey, Rebecca Kirkey, Payton Sproule and Parker Sproule. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart with the service conducted July 17 by Reverend Blake Carter at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Lorne Jelly, Barry Kirkey, Marcel St. George, Steven Sproule, Ryen Carleton and Mark Jakobsen. Burial is at the Englehart Cemetery. In memory contributions to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
