Duncan CRUICKSHANK

Duncan Cruickshank March 02, 1932 - March 05, 2007 At St. Joseph's Hospital, after a brief illness, on Sunday, March 4, 2007, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Linfoot). Dear father of Brian (Janice) and Anne (Blair) Holwerda. Adoring grandfather to Katelyn and Andrew Holwerda. Duncan was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba and he retired from Stelco in 1987 as a Chartered Accountant. He will be most remembered as a man of the arts: teaching creative comedy at Mohawk, Sheridan and Ryerson Colleges; acting in plays with Hamilton Urban Theatre and Dundas Little Theatre; playwriting and directing for Throb at the Fringe; published writer. Duncan was a member of organizations such as Artists Inc., The New Writing Workshop and Toastmasters International (DTM). A special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Hospital CTU. Donations in Duncan's memory to an arts or charity organization of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Visitation at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Funeral services in the chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery on Friday at 11am.
