Lina Filice (née Fortino) March 25, 1940 - April 23, 2007 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her devoted family, Lina passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2007, in her 68th year. Loving wife of 47 years to Gino Filice. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Clara and Louis Cialini, Louisa and Sandy Basolini, Susanna and Tony Venneri. Cherished Nonna to Christina, Laura, Victoria, Frankie, Nicole, Alyssa, Emma and Anthony. Devoted daughter and daughter-in-law of the late Pietro and Assunta Fortino, the late Carmine and Chiarina Filice. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Maria and the late Michele Bozzo and Anna and Faustino Olivito of Italy. Loving sister-in-law of Anna and Alfredo Filice, Maria and Umberto Pascuzzo, Frank and Nella Filice, Rita and Ralph Mauro, Ada and Mario Dunatov, Lucia and Joe Finelli, predeceased by dear brother-in-law Raimondo Aceti. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Lina will also be greatly missed by her many dear friends who she loved spending time with. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Roswell Park, the VON, especially Jackie Adamson and the Henderson Hospital for helping us through this difficult time. Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James Street). Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 25th from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at Corpus Christi Parish on Thursday, April 26th at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Lina will be truly missed as a loving wife, mother, nonna, sister, aunt and friend as she touched the lives of many people. Mom, your battle is over, You fought it until the end. Rest in Peace. Love you forever, love you for always, as long as we're living our mother you'll be.
