Gertrude SCOTT

FLEMMING, GERTRUDE - (nee Scott) passed away on Friday, May 4th, 2007 in Saint John at the age of 87. She will be sadly missed by her nephew, Robert "Bob" (Sandra) Scott; niece, Winnifred Clarke; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Alexander and Mary (McAuley) Scott, Gertrude was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Rourke; second husband, Archie Flemming; brother, Robert P. Scott; and two sisters, Bertha Scott and Hazel Lingley. Gertrude worked for many years for Foster and Rising Insurance and in her later years she was employed by Mitchell McConnell Insurance. She was a member of Westfield Golf and Country Club as well as The Knitting Club. In her earlier years, she was an avid Golf and Tennis player and had a great passion for skating. As a proud member of St. Mark's United Church, Gertrude was involved in the Choir, United Church Women and the Unified Board of St. Mark's. For many years she was also a volunteer at the Saint John Regional Hospital. A proud West Sider. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) with visitation on Tuesday, May 8th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark's United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, West Saint John. Final resting place, with her beloved family, in Cedar Hill Ext. Remembrances in memory of Gertrude may be made St. Mark's United Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
