Following this, Bernardine assumed responsibilities for the Children's Aid Society where her love of children brought her so much joy as families came together. Bernardine was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women's League and St. Peter's Parish. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis; and her sisters, Madeline, Jean, and Clare. Bernardine has left to mourn two sisters, Helen McLean and Angela McCarthy; as well as five nieces; four nephews; and several cousins.
