McCONNELL, Gordon James - In loving memory of Gordon James McConnell, 67 years of Hagar, who passed away Friday, April 20th, 2007 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Born in Powasson he married Judy (Eden) in Sudbury in 1962. Gordon had lived in Sudbury for many years moving to Hagar 5 years ago. He was an outstanding member of the IUOE Local #793 for 45 years operating heavy equipment for Adventure Construction / Garson Pipe Contractors for 35 years. Gordon was an avid gardener and accomplished wood worker. He had a great affinity for the outdoors and appreciation for the beauty of nature. He was devoted to his loving family.Beloved husband of Judy (Eden) McConnell of Hagar. Loving father of Charles (wife Jackie), Donald (partner Sue), Mary-Ellen “Elly“ (husband Joseph Astgen) and Jennifer (husband Derek Baron). Cherished grandfather of Jason, Kary-Ann, Andrew, Meagen, Mallory, Adam, Alex, Carley, Dylan, Emily, Scott, Charlotte and great grandchild Zachary. Sadly missed by his canine companion Boots. Dear son of Harvey and Alma (Brown) McConnell predeceased. Dear brother of Kenneth (wife Rudith). Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Monday, April 23rd, 2007 2-5 PM and 7 PM with a celebration of Gordon's life at 8:30 PM. Cremation will follow.
