DENNIS, Margaret – Suddenly following a courageous battle with cancer at her residence in Welland on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at age 85 years. Cherished wife for 68 years to William Dennis. Beloved mother of Joan Silver, William Stephen Dennis (Elaine) and Gary Dennis (Timea Szalai). Loving Grandma to Laura Dennis, Stephen Dennis (Alexandra Wilcox), Jordana Silver, Matthew Dennis and William Dennis. Loved sister of Sarah LaRose (Gaston). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Charles and Domenica Mendola, brother Mike Mendola and two sisters, Mary Chipkar and Eva Tulumella. Born in Welland, Mrs. Dennis remained a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed as partner and bookkeeper of William Dennis Plumbing & Heating. Mrs. Dennis was a longtime faithful member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, a member and former President and Secretary of the Catholic Women's League and as well, was a member of the Regina Lodge. She was a volunteer at Rapelje Lodge where she visited every Sunday. Friends are invited to visit at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, May 8th from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, May 9th from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Joseph Ingrao at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 10th at 11:00 am with the Rite of Committal following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
