Surviving are husband, Daniel; daughters, Marie, Viola; sons, Joseph, Charles, Wilfred, Gerard; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Roseanne; stepsister, Josephine; brothers, Arthur, Willie; stepbrother, Joseph. She was predeceased by daughter, Wilfredine; son, Alex; stepmother, Lysee; one sister; one stepsister; three brothers; one stepbrother; nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday.GALLANT, Mary Lucy Funeral services for the late Lucy Gallant, 89, New Waterford, were held May 26, 2004, in Mount Carmel Church with Fr. Donald MacGillivray officiating, assisted by Fr. Tom MacNeil and Deacon Leo Penny. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery. Mrs. Gallant died May 23, 2004 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Readers at the Funeral Mass were Wilfred Gallant, Marie Gallant and Viola Penny. Offertory gifts were presented by her grandchildren. Pallbearers were Stephen Gallant, Frank Gallant, John Michael Chiasson, Wilfred Boudreau, Stewart Moffat and Guy McCrae. Born in St. Joseph du Moine, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elise (Poirier) Chiasson. She was an honourary member of the Pensioners Club and a former member of the Cercle Evangeline Club. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Daniel Gallant, New Waterford four sons, Joseph, Lingan, Charles (Yvonne), Antigonish, Wilfred, Windsor, Ontario, Gerard, Lower Sackville, two daughters Marie, Pictou, Viola (Leo) Penny, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Rose Ann Mason, New Waterford, stepsister, Josephine Taylor, Welland, Ont, two brothers, Arthur New Waterford, Willie, St Joseph du Moine, stepbrother, Joseph Massachusetts, numerous nieces and nephews.
