Marguerite SCHEFTER

DIFFIN Marguerite (nee Schefter) passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the age of 96. She is reunited with her husband Harry who passed away in 2003. Dearly loved mother of Gerald Diffin (Donna), Denise Diffin and Valerie Fox. Sadly missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by her special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Diffin was predeceased by her brother Carl Schefter and sisters Claire Janiga, Hildegard Willett, Verda Schefter and Mildred Schefter. She was a faithful member of The Catholic Women's League since 1933, and The Parish Community of St. Kevin. She was instrumental in establishing the Girl Guides at St. Mary's Church in 1933. Mrs. Diffin was a former member of the Hospital Auxilliary and the Port Colborne Art Club. The family will receive their friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rev. Norman Bordage, CSC will conduct a Vigil on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. James Mulligan, CSC on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at The Parish Community of St. Kevin. Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Diffin made weekly donations to St. Kevin's Food Bank.
