SHANNON, Cecil Joseph - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family after a brief struggle with cancer. Loving husband of 52 years to Charlene (Legacé) Shannon. Dearly loved father of Gary Shannon of London, Terry Shannon (Minka Tavcar) of Niagara Falls, Tim Shannon (Patty) of London, Mary Lou Collier (Greg MacMurran) of Cambridge, Patti Vidler (Scott) of Barrie and Lisa Racz (Steve) of Fenwick. Cherished “Papa“ to Ryan, Lindsay, Corey, Adele, Shane, Aaron, Patrick, Rebecca, Adam, Sarah, Andrew, Meghan, Hailey, Rachel, Jordan and Davis. Beloved great-grandfather to Kailyn and Tristan. Dear brother of Clara Ricard (Paul) and brother- in-law of Norma Jean Theriault (Andy), Mae Lawlor (Gerald), Eunice LeClair, Yvon Legacé (Anne Marie) and Theo Legacé (Helen). Mr. Shannon is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by many dear friends. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local #9 Niagara Falls, New York. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St., Saturday 7-9 pm, Sunday 2-4 pm and 7- 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill. In memory of Mr. Shannon donations to the GNGH - Regional Cancer Centre or the St. Patrick's Church Air Conditioning Fund would be appreciated by his family.
