Alexander Taylor MCLAREN

Alexander Taylor McLaren September 09, 1911 - June 01, 2007 Peacefully after a gallant battle with cancer, in Mount Forest, Ontario on Friday, June 1, 2007, Alec McLaren, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Della McLaren (nee Sproule) and dear father of Dan and Grace McLaren of Waterdown, and predeceased by infant son David Frederick. Loved Grandpa of Marcus, Robert and Nicole. Dear brother of Lydia and Alvin Mattila, Eleanor and Glen Dawson, Robert and Helen McLaren, Gordon and Suzanne McLaren, and Dr. Ian and Virginia McLaren. Predeceased by his sister Grace Rainey. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Alec was a retired Ontario Land Surveyor, working with the Department of Highways in Ontario and then opening his own practice in Hamilton, A.T. McLaren Limited, in 1968. Alec loved the outdoors, both hunting and fishing, but especially field trialing his walker fox hounds. Friends may call at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Family Centre. A family Interment Service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel on Tuesday. If so desired, donations to the London Regional Cancer Clinic would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
