Jack Osman Carter 1936-2007 HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Jack O. Carter, 70, of Hillsborough husband of 49 years to Verna passed away on June 6, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Jack was born in Hillsborough on September 9, 1936 the son of the late Shepard and Bernice (Steeves) Carter. Jack loved the outdoors and really enjoyed times spent at his camp in Brookville. He especially enjoyed ski-doing and four wheeling through the woods. He also took time to make sure all the birds in the area were well fed. He and Verna were known for their hospitality and everyone was welcome to stop in anytime. Jack also enjoyed scratching the odd lottery ticket always willing to split his winnings with whoever wanted to go half. Jack had a great time laughing and joking with everyone, especially when he knew how to get your goat. There are so many things to be said about Jack, but we all can remember him in our own ways, he was loved by many and will be missed by all. "FOND MEMORIES CLING" He will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend, Verna (Colborne); daughter, Joyce Tingley (Dale) of Hopewell Cape; sons, Danny Carter of Moncton and Greg Carter (Ina Lynn) of Lower Cape; by his special grandchildren, Erin, Jeffrey, Christine and Jacqueline. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, William (Bill) Carter. Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Honoring Jack's own wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 2pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating. For those who wish donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital "Cardiac Unit" or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the CCU Staff at both the Moncton and Saint John for the excellent care Jack received.
