OBITUARY MAUREEN PEFFER Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 26, 1945. Died in Hamilton, Ontario on July 20, 2007. Life mate of Gordon Peffer. Mother of Justin (Jenny) and Johanna (Joseph). Grandmother of Jonah. Survived by parents Karen and Dai Griffiths of Victoria and brothers Bradford (Joyce) of Winnipeg and Morgan (Marion) of Calgary. As Maureen had a great gift for friendship she leaves behind many friends in both Montreal and her new home, Hamilton. She is also missed by Jack, her beloved "pup-dog". The many who love her feel a profound sense of loss, but her spirit lives on in her paintings, the portraits taken of her by Gordon throughout her life, and in our collective memory. We continue to find comfort and strength in the gifts she gave us: her generous spirit, enthusiasm for life, dark sense of humour, creativity, warmth, loyalty and encouragement. Her family would like to thank friends and neighbours for their support during Maureen's illness and the caring and compassionate staff of the V.O.N. and St. Peter's hospital. Donations may be sent in her name to Foundation Department, St Peter's Hospital, 88 Maplewood Ave, Hamilton, Ontario L8M LW9.
