SURGESON, R. Richard (Dick) C.A., C.I.R.P. Sept. 23, 1943 - August 11, 2007 Nearly 2 years after his devastating stroke, Dick succumbed to lung cancer in the presence of his beloved and devoted husband David Rimmer. Predeceased by his mother Olive, father Ron, brother George and much loved sister Melrose, he is survived and mourned by David and his family, sister Edna, sister-in-law Carol, son Brad Sr., daughter-in-law Lerena, and his beautiful grandchildren Brad Jr. and Amara. He leaves many nieces and nephews but was particularly close to Melrose's children Rhonda, Christopher, Lisa and Ellen who along with their partners and children are deeply saddened. Friends too numerous to mention will be asked to come and join us in a come and go wine and cheese party at a later date as befits my darling's manner. Dick was a devoted husband and loved to eat, drink and travel. He made many memories for many people and was always happier to give than to receive. Among the many things he adored chief among them were Lily, Mouse, Whisper, Bug, Priscilla and Plouffe. With this in mind it is suggested that any memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to the your local Humane Society. All in all though - he'd rather be golfing.
