WOODS-McCORMACK, Margaret “June“ nee Patterson - Born in Kingston, June 27th, 1934 passed away Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 in Kingston. Beloved daughter of the late Harry Bernard Patterson (born in Sydenham) and his wife the former Loretta Ann Purtell (born in Kingston). Loving mother of Bill Woods, Michael Woods (Heather) and Julie Carr (Daryl). Nana will forever live in the hearts of her grandchildren Andrew and Kaitlyn Carr, Clara and Laurel Woods. Dear sister of Irma Tafe, Carmel Bulger (Jim), Mary Wilkie (Gordon), Jim Patterson (Brenda) and Bill Patterson. Also remembered by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and especially her dear friend and companion Cliff Clark. June was born in Kingston and was educated by the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, first at St. Vincent's Academy and then at Notre Dame High School. She received her B.A. degree from Queen's University (Arts '57) and then her Bach. of Social Work from the University of Toronto (B.S.W. 58). She worked as a social worker at Kingston Children's Aid Society, and later at Kingston Friendship Homes, now known as Frontenac Community Mental Health Services. She was active in the community, especially The Newman Club Alumni. Mom took advantage of every day, enjoying life's simplest moments. “It's clearing now Mom! You will always be remembered in the hearts of family and friends. We love you and miss you.“ Friends will be received at the CENTRAL CHAPEL of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy) on Friday, June 29th between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 392 Palace Road on Saturday, June 30th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow.
