KUZMA, Daniel - On August 24, 2007, in his 80th year, peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Predeceased by his wife Joan, Dan leaves behind his five loving children, Patricia (Phil), Jo-Anne, Bob (Sharon), Gay-Lynne (Alan) and David (Diana). His grandchildren, Kevin, Cheryl, Bryan, Megan, Dylan, Taylor and Shawn, and his four great grandchildren, will sadly miss their grandpa. Dan faced his illness with strength and courage and was able to maintain his dignity, independence and sense of humour until the end. A devoted father, Dan took pride in raising five children and by accomplishing his life goals, first as an outdoorsman and fishing guide on Lake of the Woods, then a twenty-five year sales career and finally his life-long dream, he owned and operated Long Lake Lodge, a successful resort in Apsley, Ont. After retiring, Dan became a devoted volunteer with the Diabetes Association of Canada through their Peterborough office and was presented with a five-year service award by the Province of Ontario. Dan will be fondly remembered for his easy laugh and his willingness to help his family and his many friends and acquaintances that were fortunate enough to be touched by his life. Our family would like to express sincere appreciation for the timely support of the nurses and doctors at Scarborough General Hospital and to his neighbours Dave and Karen for their care and friendship. As per his wishes, the family will be conducting a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Kidney Foundation. 10802071
