Iris May GADSDON

AHLSTEDT, Iris May (nee Gadsdon) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Iris May Ahlstedt at St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, September 8, 2007, in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Axel Gerhardt Ahlstedt (1985), loving mother of Jill (Ian) Brindle of St. Catharines, Janet (Richard) Spratt of St. Catharines, Jeff (Shayna) Ahlstedt of Whitby and John (Morna) Ahlstedt, Iris is survived by her brother Eric of Paignton, Devon England. She will be missed by her eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her friend of many years Ed Woolner. Iris arrived in Canada form England in 1946 as the bride of William (Bill) Williams. Always young at heart, vibrant, and active, she has been a loving mother and grandmother and had enjoyed helping others as a personal support worker of Comcare, St. Catharines. Friends will be received at the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME (33 Duke St., St. Catharines 905-684-2334) on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
