Léo John LAURENCE

LAURENCE, Léo John - Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on September 18, 2007 in his 86th year. Cherished by his beloved wife of 63 years, Régina (nee Pellerin). Loving and proud father of Fernande Hanna (Patrick), Michel Laurence (Loretta), Liliane Dion (Rosaire), Suzanne Robert, June Tardif (Denis), and Jacques Laurence (Lori). Léo is also treasured by his 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 12 great- grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Anna Lefebvre, Simone Lalande, Louisa Bruyere, Laurette Audette and one brother Henri. Predeceased by his grandson Joshua Laurence; his sisters Rosa Patry, Marie Violette and his brothers Albert, Raoul and Lionel Laurence. Léo was an auto mechanic in Welland for 36 years. He is a Third Degree member of the Chevaliers de Colomb, Pere Dionis Lafreniere Conseil 8296 and an Honorary Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Faustus A. McKenna Assembly 0873. In accordance with Léo's wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at L'Eglise Sacré-Coeur, 72 Empire Street, Welland, on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation and rite of committal will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Help A Child Smile, Canadian Cancer Society or H.&H.B. Community Care Access Centre would be appreciated by the family, with cards available at the H.L.
